Behind
(c) 2009 Whisper Word Music
I take my chances like there's nothing left to lose
And I mend the pieces when it all falls through
Don't a word love, if you can't see my eyes
Cause a handshake can mistake all your warm-hearted truth for a cold cold lie
Everything's gonna change
And I might just be the last
But when I say I will...I will
It's a long long road over this mountain
And a far far way away from here
It's a dark dark night, but morning is rising and I'll be right behind the light
You change your mind love, over and again
And let me down only to draw me in
Don't wish it all away
And don't think we've got it down
Cause nothing's ever missing 'til you wish you had it back around
Everything's gonna change
And you might just be the last
But you say the word and I'll be right here
It's a long long road over this mountain
And a far far way away from here
It's a dark dark night, but morning is rising and I'll be right behind the light
Oh I know - all that goes down comes back around, back around
It's a long long road over this mountain
And a far far way away from here
It's a big 'ol world but all we need is right here
It's a long long road and baby I'm running
And a far far way away but it's just around the bend
It's a dark dark night, but morning is rising and love is right behind the light
EP Update
Alrighty quick update - we successfully tracked the bass and drums last week - thanks to Eric and Justin! This week we're shooting for the acoutic guitar and vocals - more to follow. I'll put up an acoustic version of Hardly Breathe on myspace later today if I get a chance. Currently you can hear a demo of I Am Yours on the site.

EP leak
I'm excited to announce the EP track list - some songs are new, some you've heard of, and some are Autumn Calling material. Maybe I'll upload a sneak peak on myspace in the coming weeks as we hit the studio.
1. begin today
2. daylight
3. i am yours
4. hardly breathe
5. shine on
6. loved (acoustic)*
*still on the fence about "loved". going to record that one acoustic/live so we'll give it a few shots and see if one of the takes is good - if so - then we'll stick it on the disc.
see you soon!

so long
it's been so long since we've really done anything new on the music front. so the itch started up again. we sold 200 cds at the last promotion at jude 3 during christmas which has afforded me the opportunity to (a) buy a new guitar or (b) record a 5 song ep.
i'm starting on the ep.
i'm not sure what it will look like yet, how much production there will be, if it will be mostly acoustic or if it'll be a full band. i'm not even sure what direction the songs will take whether they'll be faith focused or not. i'm leaning towards "not" only in because there are a couple songs that I love that we did with the autumn calling and would love to package a couple of them up with a few other tunes.
anyways stay tuned mabye we'll have something new in the works!

Tis the Season
So I was reading recently that the holiday season is going to be dismal this year (negative press…what’s new?), actually I believe they called it a “wipeout”. I completely understand when your savings is losing value big time, and when many people’s jobs are either on the line or gone spending money on “luxuries” is not an option. I find it interesting in my life what I begin to view as luxuries – I view the soap my wife likes as a luxury at $5.00 a bottle…I recently found a value brand for $1.00 in a similar sized bottle - it was fine. My favorite brew from New Holland Brewing Co. has become a luxury at $10.00, when you can buy a staple like Coors Light for half that (in reality anything other than tap water is probably a luxury). Almost all of our groceries are now store-brand instead of name brand (except mac-n-cheese, anything other than kraft just tastes funny, anyone else notice that?). New CD’s and books are a luxury. I now buy my CD’s used over the Internet, often paying less than $5.00 delivered to my door…sometimes less than $3.00. I could go on and on, but going back to the holiday retail forecast, I’m wondering if in all of this we (as a nation) might just find ourselves a little happier than we expected.
As long as I can remember it’s been a world where you can buy happiness, albeit a slightly empty version, but elation nonetheless. I can’t help but wonder/hope that in the midst of a holiday season where many will have less of a focus on stuff because they can’t afford to buy it, we might just begin to find happiness, true happiness, in the stuff that is free: family, relationships, time together around the dinner table, family game nights, friends, etc… Maybe this whole “crisis” is just the shot in the arm that we need to re-prioritize, re-focus, and re-connect. Imagine a Christmas void of greed, envy, and disappointment because you didn’t get a certain gift, or someone got a better one than you. A Christmas where we all get together simply to share our time with each other because that’s the best gift we can give.
My hope is that this holiday season, although dismal for retailers, is one that is full of happiness and cheer for Americans as we come back to the things that truly make us happy, the things that really fulfill us, the things that make the difference between the American dream and the American nightmare…and that my friends would make for one merry Christmas!
